The Daily Show with Jon Stewart returned last night in midseason form, taking on Speechgate – the media-manufactured hullaballoo over the timing of the President’s jobs speech set for tomorrow night, to John Oliver’s bizarre obsession with ghosts, to something about feral leprechauns. But he also tackled the huff over Hoffa – James Hoffa, and his speech at a recent rally for President Obama, where he said, “If we go back, and keep the eye on the prize, let’s take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America, where we belong.” “And don’t touch my microphone f@%k-face – that’s a union job!” Cue the Tea Party’s outrage at Hoffa’s remarks and their sudden, ‘Oh-my-stars-and-garters! Tone down the offensive rhetoric! My virgin ears can’t handle it!’
