Here's a doll I've been working on for a while now that I've posted on the joint as well, She's approximately 9½" tall and at the moment 21 pieces featuring a 6 piece torso. After being up for nearly 24 hours we finally made it to Barcelona In one piece. Even our luggage arrived which is always a concern. The airport was a work of art in itself and could not wait to go exploring the city of Barcelona. The floors were made of shiny black marble it felt like you were walking on water. Very strange feeling. We stayed at The Barcelona Universal.

As an extension to the figurative art piece I created, it was suggested that I carry forth the image into wearable art. Hence, my 36" x 36" pure silk scarf, signed, "Limited " addition Journey Woman's Fish Tale . It's rolled hand-sewn hem, private label and presentation gift box ready for gift giving in only $60.00.

At first I thought an elbow joint would be quite difficult to do, I wanted her to move just like a human and to do this I sketched a few ways out and finally decided that she would need two ‘balls’ to move properly. When I sketched this out I had no knowledge of Bjd or how anybody else had made them and was quite surprised to see later that so many people had had the same idea, although it does make perfect sense when you think about it. So when I came to making it I broke it down into shapes, a bit like you would when drawing and it's actually the easiest mold to do and only takes 30 minutes. It’s also my smallest mold at an inch big. Which is a good thing to talk about.

This is another super labor intensive project (don't expect to see it finished any time soon) -- It's in the making and when I get some progress, I'll post. The color looks red, it's not. Probably the flash. I'm writing this late and there's no sun... I'm thinking white embroidery thread, or maybe silver and beads.

So- these little friends have been in the works for a long, long time. Finally- I have a girl and a boy finished! Of course I already know I need improvements- I'm a super-perfectionist- their ears don't show thru the mohair! As I was making the wigs I thought to myself, "How did I NOT know the ears wouldn't be long enough, what was I thinking???"

For this week’s assignment we were asked to find a painting that we love and paint our interpretation of it, whether that be in a literal sense or not. Suggestions were given to take things like color palette, lines, subject matter etc, and re-create in our own way. This is a new piece from her that is still a work in progress but i quite like it as it is. I choose to use her color palette and just go from there. I had NO IDEA what i was going to paint which was completely uncomfortable for me…
