Careers in International Relations. Careers in International Relations (2009) By Roy Licklider and Edward Rhodes Many Rutgers students are attracted to the idea of pursuing some sort of career in international affairs. Such careers are possible Rutgers graduates can be found around the world, in positions that affect the functioning of our national and global political, economic, social, and cultural system in a wide variety of ways.Unless one is extraordinarily lucky, however, such careers do not just happen.They are the result of serious thinking, serious planning, and serious preparation.Indeed, it is difficult to get many interesting starting jobs in international relations with only a B.A. degree.Many students find that either graduate education of some sort or direct job experience -- or both -- is necessary.
