Azzedine Alaïa ( arabe : عز الدين عليّة ), né le 7 juin 1940 , est un styliste et couturier tunisien installé en France, internationalement reconnu depuis les années 1980 pour ses robes et son travail du cuir. Né en Tunisie de parents agriculteurs , il s'installe en 1957 à Paris , après avoir obtenu un diplôme des Beaux-Arts de Tunis (section sculpture). Durant ses études, il travaille avec sa sœur chez un couturier et reproduit pour ses voisines des modèles de robes trouvés dans Vogue [ N 1 ] . Il commence à travailler comme assistant couturier et se constitue rapidement une clientèle privée.
