Several articles dig into the money behind various forces pushing Republicans — however unpopular — back toward political power in Washington. It turns out the main drivers behind much of the “grassroots” Republican resurgence are from a single, oil-rich family: the Kochs. They’re playing in everything from the Tea Party movement, to individual races in Florida (targeting Alan Grayson and Susan Kosmas) to opposing climate change legislation, and wrapping it all in seemingly benign philanthropy. They’re even reviving a fringe movement once cast aside by the conservative elite: the paranoid, communist-hunting John Birch Society, whose style and beliefs you can detect in everything from Glenn Beck’s red-baiting to the new talking points of the bully-boys of the tea party base.

The Kochs are rich, determined, and aggressive, and Democrats should take them very seriously. First up, a piece by Joe Conason explaining just who we’re dealing with: 1200312-john-birch-society-koch-brothers-beck. I was not aware until a few days ago that Fred Koch (father of the Koch brothers) was a founding member of the John Birch Society. I did a little research of my own. Glenn Beck is following the John Birch Society philosophy, which has always been described as radical ultra right wing. They were against the civil rights movement because of the "communist conspiracy theory". Hey don't take my word for it look it up as Beck says. Read about John Birch society and tell me that Beck is not parroting the same thought that is been around for decades, but he is not alone. The Koch Brothers are following in their father's footsteps exerting strong political influence.

The interesting thing here is that this groupd of radical conservatives are different from the other radical group of conservatives...Neo Cons. John Birch Society. John Birch Society exposed! Koch Bros. & The John Birch Society | Liberals and Progressives Only.
