How to Make Tissue Paper Flowers. I know terrariums and succulents are all the rage right now, but I have to admit – they hold no appeal for me. I love nature and like to bring living things into my home whenever I can, but I go for it in the way of flowers. Big flowers with huge blooms like hydrangeas and peonies. Ooooh…la…la… I love ‘em! With hub’s unemployment I haven’t bought any fresh flowers and rely on fake to give me my flower fix. I even stopped buying massive flats of annuals that I normally do every Spring to plant outside because of the price. Last week while on Pinterest I came across this photo and haven’t been able to get it out of my mind ever since. Linda McDonald Design I know I could never find them fresh in my area this time of year and even if I did they would cost $20 or more, so I decided the only way I was going get them was to go fake, but even fake are expensive.

This is what I created by taking apart dollar store flowers and styling new blooms from tissue paper. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Aunt Peaches 1. Bohemian Wornest. M.hometalk. Super Simple Homemade Air Freshener. Baking soda naturally absorbs odours, so why not take advantage of that to create simple, inexpensive air fresheners? Here's how: Use a hammer and and a nail to poke holes in the lid of a small canning jar. (The heart is a nice touch, but clearly not necessary) Fill the jar about 1/4 full with baking soda Add 6-8 drops of lavender essential oil Put lid on and place in any spot that could use some freshening. I've made several, and I use them in my linen closet, under my kitchen sink (which is where the stinky garbage can is) and in the bathroom. This powder is also useful for removing odours from carpets and upholstery. You could, of course, substitute your favorite essential oil for the lavender.

NOTE: As with any cleaning product (even the reasonably safe and friendly ones), keep out of reach of children and pets. Homemade Air Fresheners. | Homemade Cleaners.

Light Bulb Vase – DIY Home Décor. This week we’re sharing some of the blog’s greatest hits! These are some of our most loved posts by you, our amazing readers. Don’t throw away those old light bulbs just yet! I have a fun, easy DIY for you that will brighten up your home decor or workspace :) This DIY is very simple, but it requires working with glass so you definitely need to be careful!

What you need: A light bulb (any shape or size will work!) Step One: First you need to remove the little silver layer on the bottom of the light bulb. Step Two: Now you have to remove the black cap from the bottom of the light bulb. Step Three: Once the black glass was removed it was really easy to get the little glass tube and wiring on the inside of the bulb out – I simply tapped it with the pliers and it broke right off. And now you have your empty lightbulb!

Step Four: Add flowers and water, and hang with the gardening wire! Now I want to make more! Be sure to check out our new DIY Projects category for more DIY Inspiration!
