J.K. Rowling to publish book for adults with Little, Brown. "Harry Potter" creator J.K. Rowling will publish her first book for adults, it was announced Thursday. Publisher Little, Brown will bring the book to shelves simultaneously in the U.S. and Britain at an unannounced future date. Its title has not yet been revealed. In a media release about the deal, Rowling said, "Although I’ve enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the Harry Potter series, which has been published so brilliantly by Bloomsbury and my other publishers around the world. The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry's success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher. Will there be crossover from Rowling's "Harry Potter" success? Pottermore: It's an interactive reading experience J.K.
