Most of its provisions haven't been implemented yet. But the debate about it rages on at every level. Twenty-six states have filed legal challenges to it. And this month the Supreme Court will hear arguments about its constitutionality. The centerpiece of the case against Obamacare is the requirement that everyone buy some kind of health insurance or face stiff penalties--the so-called individual mandate. Twenty years ago, Switzerland had a system very similar to America's--private insurers, private providers--with very similar problems. When Taiwan--another country with a strong free-market economy--decided to create a new health care system in the mid-1990s, it studied every existing model.

The most striking aspect of America's medical system remains how much of an outlier it is in the advanced industrial world. Cookware: What to use what not to use! There are numerous types of cookware, made with different materials… but which ones are best to use, we’ll tell you!

NOOK Simple Touch To Feature E Ink Screen With First-Of-Its-Kind 'GlowLight' E Ink readers like the Kindle and the NOOK are great for reading in the sunshine, but when it gets dark out, you face a problem: You either have to attach a flashlight to the device or turn on a light in your home.

NOOK Simple Touch To Feature E Ink Screen With First-Of-Its-Kind 'GlowLight'

With its newest NOOK Simple Touch, which comes with an embedded technology called GlowLight, Barnes & Noble thinks it has eliminated that problem forever. Announced on Thursday afternoon, the new device becomes the first E Ink reader whose screen is also backlit. Barnes & Noble representatives say that the new screen illumination technology, which can be toggled on and off, makes its new NOOK Simple Touch the only device with a screen that is really readable both in direct sunlight as well as in the dark. After trying the new NOOK Simple Touch in both the darkness and the light, and comparing its readability to a new iPad and an E Ink Kindle Touch under similar conditions, I've gotta say: Barnes & Noble might have something game-changing for the e-reader market.

Dry water Dry water, an unusual form of "powdered liquid", is a water-air emulsion in which tiny water droplets, each the size of a grain of sand, are surrounded by a sandy silica coating.[1] Dry water actually consists of 95 percent liquid water, but the silica coating prevents the water droplets from combining and turning back into a bulk liquid.[2] The result is a white powder that looks very similar to table salt.

Discovery[edit] Dry water was first patented in 1968 and was immediately snatched up by cosmetic companies as it appeared to have potential applications in the cosmetics field.[2] It was rediscovered in 2006 by the University of Hull, UK, and has since been evaluated and studied for its potential use in other fields.[2] The dry water itself is easy enough to manufacture.

A troll doll. (Eraphernalia/Flickr) Members of the Arizona House and Senate will review a recently passed anti-cyberstalking bill after critics raised concerns that it's so broad it could authorize arrests for online "trolls" who write mean comments on social media and news sites. State Rep. Chad Campbell, a co-sponsor of the bill, told Yahoo News that lawmakers are trying "to address the constitutional concerns" raised by First Amendment advocates and are looking at making some changes. "This bill was only intended to go after people who are engaging in digital stalking, nothing more. In March, Arizona politicians overwhelmingly voted to update an old statute that prohibited harassment and stalking by telephone to also include Internet communications, in an effort to combat cyberbullying.

One of the key problems with the statute, according to legal experts, is that the law is not limited to one-to-one communications, such as emails, Facebook messages or texts. Blue Marlin is a semi-submersible heavy lift ship designed to transport very large semi-submersible drilling rigs above the transport ship’s deck. It is equipped with 38 cabins to accommodate 60 people, a workout room, sauna and swimming facilities. Blue Marlin and her sister ship MV Black Marlin comprise the Marlin class of heavy lift ship. They were owned by Offshore Heavy Transport of Oslo, Norway, from their construction, in April 2000 and November 1999 respectively, until 6 July 2001, when they were purchased by Dockwise Shipping of the Netherlands.

InterAksyon.com means BUSINESS The Economist newspaper - that's what the English call magazines (the word for stacks of artillery shells) -may have finally laid to rest the nonsensical notion of Third World politicians to turn their country into another Taiwan, South Korea or Singapore.

It will never happen. Rich countries must start rich. The Economist notes that developing countries no longer look to the West but to Asia for inspiration and instruction, with the exception of the Philippines, meaning us. We remain the prime example of poor performance in a progressive part of the world, and that's not going to change. Africa looks to China, with good reason. Africa along with other poor countries like ours looks to Vietnam for its swift recovery from a devastating war which, however, ended nearly half a century ago.

They probably wouldn't like to hear it, but introverts are having a moment in the spotlight as new research shows their creative power. We may live in what Time writer Bryan Walsh calls the “land of the loud and the home of the talkative,” but social scientists have discovered that introverts are often better friends, wiser managers, and more creative thinkers than extroverts. “Introverts are better at listening, and can spend long periods of time in solitary work, which turns out to be the best way to come up with fresh ideas or master a skill,” writes Walsh.

“Introverts forge deep and rewarding relationships, and often make smarter decisions than extroverts, because they’re more cautious and deliberate.” Pelvic Thrusting Cats. 7 Crazy, Fun Cakes You Can Make. Christianity is the dominant religion in both South Korea and the United States. But a new study finds that believers in these two cultures view the central figure of their religion quite differently. Americans are more likely to associate Jesus Christ with positive terms such as "love" and "amazement" compared with South Koreans, who are more likely to associate the founder of Christianity with words like "sacrifice," "blood" and "suffering. " The results held true for both Christians and non-Christians in each culture, according to study researcher Shigehiro Oishi, a psychologist at the University of Virginia. "[I]t is clear that there is an interesting cultural difference in the image of Jesus," Oishi and his graduate student Casey Eggleston wrote in a Society for Personality and Social Psychology blog post about the research.
