Diy {spray paint makeovers} If you are a lover of thrift stores and yard sales (like me) then spray paint can be one of your very best friends. It is one of the quickest and easiest ways to transform and makeover a secondhand find (or give new life to something of your own.) Here are a few very basic tips: -work in a well ventilated area -the object should be dust free and dry.

-use primer! -apply thin multiple coats -follow the directions on the can for safety tips and recoat times Here are a few of my latest spray paint makeovers: This wooden leaf tray wasn't in too bad of shape before but now it looks crisp and clean with a few coats of white. It makes for a very cute catchall for my jewelry. I liked this old candle holder's rustic and antique look. I don't know why a lot of my projects turn into jewelry organizers, I don't intend it that way but that's just how they come out! AFTER All it needed was a little spray down with the hose and now it it a cool necklace holder. Have a great weekend! DIY Woven Bead Necklace. After a little inspiration from Diva (seen in this post), I decided to try out something similar with a whole lot of beads I bought (initially reserved for S and my craft day, but I couldn't wait that long... We'll have to make a larger more epic version!). Not too shabby, ey?

Here's another (easy) DIY for you to try - complete with a short video this time!! DIY Woven Bead Necklace Step 1: Rustle up your bits and pieces. Step 2: Time to weave! Separate your hank into 4 equal parts, then lay them out flat, taping them to the table. It should look something like this if you use 4 strands! Step 3: Once you've finished the weave, it's time to secure the ends. Step 4: Attach one of those hooky things, then thread the pen nib on to hide the ugly knot! Et voila! Style it with a button-up shirt, with the necklace just peeking out from below :) xx T. D.I.Y "CHAIN, CORD, AND COLORED PEARL NECKLACE" Hi all.. Sorry, if lately I didn't post so much.. Ya, as long as I'm not really fit.. I can't push my body too much.. but its oke, nevermind..

But I promised to you I'll make a new D.I.Y every week.. hehe.. here my latest D.I.Y "CHAIN, CORD, AND COLORED PEARL NECKLACE". Well this necklace I get inspired by Zara necklace. So, I decided to make one for me. And I choose this black and red color.. INSPIRATION | ZARA NECKLACE.

Büyüklüğünü, uzunluğunu ne kadar istiyorsak zincirleri ona göre kesiyoruz. Sıralama bu şekilde: Yukarıda bahsettiğim o süet gibi olan iple, bu 2 zinciri birleştiriyoruz: Binanın ilk katını çıktık: Turuncu ipi, 1. ve 3. zinciri kullanarak doluyoruz: İskeletimiz bitti! Aslında farklı zincirler ve iplerle bu şekilde bi sürü kolye yapılabilir. Yani bu aşamada da noktalayabiliriz. Ama bizim daha çok işimiz var. Nasıl? DIY Chevron + Chain Necklace. Summer isn’t complete without a bright, punchy necklace. I’ve been inspired by all of the bright necklaces in stores this summer (this and this being at the top of my wish list,) and wanted to make something that I can wear while I’m at home all week on the Cape (or all summer long, for that matter.) Preppy, fun and bright… what could be better? I also made a red, white, and blue version to wear on the fourth, so be sure to scroll all the way down to see how that one turned out. {I paired her with stripes, a bright manicure, and my handmade “Grace” ring from Madison Elizabeth Designs.}

But I have been talking about starting. Does that count? I have been browsing online though - and of course I inevitably wandered over to Anthro. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I absolutely fell in love with this necklace.

I thought I’d help us both out by creating a knockoff – you can never have too many options for Christmas ideas right? Here’s my version . . . Mine is a little less “strandy” than theirs but that was intentional. Here’s what you’ll need to create this cutie . . . 1 1/2″ Wide Ribbon – 3 1/4 yardsStringing CordSmall Glass BeadsLarge Round Beads – 5/8″ (any type)Crimp Beads – 20Jump Rings – 6Thread Start by stringing your beads.

Thread a crimp bead onto the cord and loop the end around a jump ring, then thread the cord back through the crimp bead. Thread beads onto the cording – it will help control the cording if you thread the loose end through a needle. Press the strips lightly. Boden Boulevard Necklace Knockoff. Did you know Mother’s Day is about a week and half away?? Eek!! I don’t know about you but I’m scrambling a bit here. ;) So I thought I’d help you out. Actually, Melissa and I are helping you out. :) Melissa sent in a Tutorial Request for a darling Boden Necklace – and I knew that it would be perfect for a Mother’s Day idea.

Or a “I’m going to make that myself for Mother’s Day” idea. ;) Here is my version of the prettiness - And here is the Boden version – with a crazy retail value of $78 - I like the navy they used but I went for a more neutral color scheme. This necklace is super easy!! Here’s what you’ll need to make it: twill or other ribbon (approx 50″) large link chain (you’ll need a piece about 13″ long) bead assortment – enough for 5 13″ strands beading cord crimp beads (10) (All supplies came from Michael’s) :) Start by weaving your twill piece through the links of the chain.

Continue weaving the twill through until the chain piece is centered in the twill. Pretty cute already huh? As soon as Lauren and I saw this editorial in Flare Magazine, we knew we had to recreate these awesome, friendship bracelet-like necklaces. We promise they are super easy to make and the perfect way to pass the time during those long summer roadtrips. To make a 2-tone necklace, cut a long piece of rope and wrap two different colors of embroidery thread around its own bobbin. Tie a starter knot along with the two colored threads you are using, leaving at least 3 inches of slack, Tape down the slack to a flat surface or safety pin it something that will help keep it in place (feeling nostalgic yet?).

Lay the color that isn’t being used (shown here in purple) in your left hand, along with the rope, and hold them taut. Take the active color (shown here in red) in your right hand, pass it over the rope, loop it under and back through the opening. Pull up and to the right to tighten. Once you’re done knotting, add a few nuts and/or washers to the necklace. DIY Box Braid Necklace. The moment we saw Phillip Lim‘s Box Braid Collar Necklace, we were immediately overcome with a wave of nostalgia. Our memories of a neon, plastic box braid lanyard was suddenly transformed into a sophisticated leather jewelry component. Honestly, brilliant! Inspired by our fondness of Lim’s necklace and our love of utilizing hardware, we made our own interpretation of a box braid necklace.

And in case you forgot how to make your favorite childhood summertime craft, take a trip down memory lane with us! Start by cutting the suede in 4 three-yard pieces. Repeat the box braid until you are ready to add washers to the necklace. Once the necklace is finished, trim the ends. Wear it as a necklace, wrap bracelet or even a headband!
