This event was organised by the Energy Charter Secretariat, Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and supported by the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Mr. Alexander Novak. Over 150 participants from Russia and abroad gathered to discuss the topic "Cross-Border Trade and Investment Flows as the Backbone of International Energy Security".

Representatives of governments, the energy sector, financial sector, regulatory authorities, law firms, international organisations, academia and the media focused on the challenges in achieving long-term energy security, effectiveness of asset swaps and other ways of bringing closer international energy markets, as well as the stronger and weaker points of various measures aimed at the promotion of investment flows.
