(في كتابه (نقد الإيقاع : الحــــروف: موقع الشاعر المغربي عبداللطيف الوراري. الوراري يكسر حاجز الصمت في علم العروض العربي عبدالغني المقرمي (شاعر وإعلامي يمني) كان علم العروض ولا يزالُ منطقةً مهجورةً في ساحة الدراسات اللغوية العربية، لا يؤمّها إلا نفرٌ قليلٌ من الباحثين والمتخصّصين الذين شاءت أقدارهم أن يتعرّضوا لحرور هذا العلم إمّا دارسين، وإما مدرّسين، وفي كلا الحالتين يصبح التعاطي مع هذا العلم مهمّةً دونها خرط القتاد، نظراً لقضايا كثيرة تحول دون فهم هذا العلم وسبر أغواره، وإخراجه إلى دائرة النُّور مثله مثل باقي علوم العربية.
على أنّ هناك أصواتاً ارتفعت منادية بإعمال معول التجديد في مداميك هذا العلم، وردّ الظاهرة العروضية إلى معايير الشعرية، محاولة لاستبعاد كلّ دخيل في هذا العلم عن ساحته، وسعياً صادقاً نحو تجديد مصطلحه، وإخراج مباحثه من تلك الرتابة القاتلة التي حوّلته إلى مادّة متحفية توضع لا في طاولة الدرس، بل في رفوف التاريخ المنسية. يتركّب الكتاب من سبعة فصولٍ ومقدمة وخاتمة، ويشتمل على ثبت بأهمّ مصطلحات الإيقاع (العروضي، البلاغي، الموسيقي، التجويدي).
