Commentary: Safari has taken the lead by performing about twice the speed of its nearest competitors, Chrome and Firefox. Opera, the once champion of the speed test, has fallen from its throne to the second-to-last position. Perhaps the most surprising is how much worse IE8 fared relative to its competitors — it was 2-3 times slower, but now is performing almost five times slower. Commentary: I really expected Google Chrome, which was released today, to do much better than it fared in the test results.

A brief history of Findory

Findory was a personalized news site. The site launched in January 2004 and shut down November 2007. A reader first coming to Findory would see a normal front page of news, the popular and important news stories of the day. When someone read articles on the site, Findory learned what stories interested that reader and changed the news that was featured to match that reader's interests. In this way, Findory built each reader a personalized front page of news. http://glinden.blogspot.com/2008/01/brief-history-of-findory.html

Your Ideal PC - PCWorld

It's easy to forget just how good we PC and technology fans have it. Sure, the cryptic acronyms, evolving standards, and boneheaded salespeople can be annoying, but if you think they're bad, try shopping for furniture some time. This sofa's almost perfect, but the color doesn't match your décor. This other one's the right color, but the style's all wrong. Want to add on another seat to accommodate a growing family? Forget it. http://www.pcworld.com/article/116993/your_ideal_pc.html
