Periodismo de investigación en formato cómic. Una buena historia no conoce fronteras. La Agencia Pública de Periodismo de Investigación publicó la semana pasada su primer reportaje en formato de cómic. “Las niñas en juego”, escrito por la periodista Andrea Dip e ilustrado por Alexander de Maio, pone al descubierto la explotación y el turismo sexual infantil durante la Copa Mundial de Fútbol en la ciudad de Fortaleza, en Ceará, una de las 12 ciudades sedes del mundial. Andrea Dip explicó al Centro Knight para el Periodismo en las Américas que la decisión de presentar la investigación como cómic permitió “ambientar y contextualizar la historia sin exponer a las niñas, innovar en formato y lenguaje, y hacer esa realidad más cercana al lector, ya que lo hace seguir toda la narración, siguiendo las entrevistas realizadas e incluso encontrándose con la falta de datos e información”.
En la entrevista, la periodista señaló que el mayor desafío de hacer un reportaje en cómic está en la diferencia del proceso de producción. Aside from several collections of the strip in many languages, Liniers has also produced comics-format travel diaries and children’s books. When I met him at the Toon Books booth at the Brooklyn Book Festival where he was signing his new book The Big Wet Balloon, he was discussing the large mural painted on cloth that hung behind the booth with other cartoonists.
