Totaling just over two minutes, LLAPSE, a new animated short film written, directed, and animated by Vanhoenacker, purports to be "a visual metaphor of the positive and negative aspects of humanity, and its path on Earth. " Revolving around an enormous cube suspended in mid-air, the graphics in the video morph into different shapes and elements, all while, from deserts and jungles to a stadium concert and amongst ruins where a woman with her child is set to be executed, teleporting to seemingly uncorrelated locations. Fused and sequenced together in a manner that suggests the interconnectivity of all planetary happenings, nature or urban, the scenarios become morally challenging in its juxtaposition of an execution and a serene, expansive desert.
