Error Code: 106, 168 or 324

Error Type: Banking

Error Category: QuickBooks Online

Error Description: Banking Error 106, 168 or 324 occurs when QuickBooks Online is not able to find the account(s) when logging in to your bank’s website or if the account(s) has been closed at the bank and therefore, no longer shows up on the website.

Solution: In order to fix QuickBooks Banking Error 106, 168 or 324, we have provided the necessary solutions.

1. Click on the Reconnect my account link that is displayed after the error message and follow the on-screen steps to select your updated account with the financial institution.

2. If you don’t see the Reconnect my account link or any indications of a problem or maintenance on your bank or credit card’s website, you can try to manually update your account by clicking the Update button in the upper right corner within QuickBooks Online application. Try running three manual updates during non-peak hours.

3. Check if you can log in to your bank’s website for online banking.

4. If you are able to successfully log in to your bank’s website, look for a message, notification or alert. Also, make sure that you can see your account summary, account history and account transactions without any problems.

5. You are required to wait at least for 24 hours before trying again in order to allow the time your bank might take to fix any problems related to their servers.

Note for US customers about Wells Fargo Bank:

When trying to set up the connection to your Wells Fargo Personal or Business account (or having both), this error is caused by the way Wells Fargo presents to its customers.

To see the missing account and be able to connect to it with QuickBooks Online, you will need to follow the steps given below:

1. Log in to your Wells Fargo online banking account website.

2. On the first screen under Account Summary, use the drop-down arrow to select your business account, then click the Go button.

3. Select the Set as Default View option.

4. Sign in to QuickBooks Online and set up the connection in online banking.

5. There is no way to show both business and personal accounts as the default view at the same time. Therefore, you will have to toggle between these on the bank’s website each time you want to update your accounts in QuickBooks Online for the non-default account.

You can use web-connect to import a bank data file directly into QuickBooks Online.

We hope that the solutions given above have solved your problem.
