Church Planting. Welcome to Church Planting Movements. New Churches > Comprehensive New Church Checklist. What is the checklist? The checklist is a list of actions that Church Planting Solutions recommend every church planter consider doing. Not every church planter will need to perform every action on the list. Other church planters will need to do some actions not on the list. In the end though, this is a great starting place for a church planter to begin building a giant "to-do" list or launch plan for starting a new church. Below is the first section of the checklist.

Already convinced? How was the checklist developed? The checklist is based on a more detailed written launch plan for starting a new church. Church planter (or church planting church or church planting organization) develops a clear vision for what opening day looks like (e.g. one service or two, fully functioning children's ministry or only a nursery, student ministry or no student ministry, high quality sound system or low cost system, type of music, etc.). Are more details available? Who can use the checklist? Church Planting Models. Church Planting Models Today There are a number of church planting models today.

Many require extensive budgets (up to $350K), well trained leadership teams, facilities, fund raising, staffing, marketing campaigns, music teams, and several years of planning, practicing, planting, and establishing to complete. Some of these models seek to follow scriptural patterns and precedents closely; some only very loosely connect to scripture. These models can include detailed flow charts and intense assessments and selection criteria for both staff and target geographies and demographics. In their detail, they sometimes look similar to business plans and project plans. Many begin with up to a year of planning and pre-launch activities, an initial launch and a second grand opening launch, take an additional two to four years before the church is officially planted, being self-supporting and with permanent staff. God is at Work We can rejoice over the work being accomplished.
