Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University. The Health Improvement Foundation is the successor to an informal organization begun by a group of health care providers, researchers, teachers and administrators and informally known as Nova Scotia Healnet.
The aim is to facilitate the use of technology to support clinical care, teaching, administration and research. Unlike workers in other industries which have embraced information technology, health care workers, including physicians, in Nova Scotia rarely have access to electronic tools which other industries normally use is using to support decision making and communication.
