PROJECT. Augmented Reality - Video Projection Mapping. Paleodictyon. Centre Pompidou Metz. | simongeilfus.com. Art direction, Motion Design and Software Development. Metz, France, October 2013. A projection video mapping installation directed in collaboration with Yannick Jacquet and Thomas Vaquié on the impressive architecture of Shigeru Ban. A project produced by Nicolas Boritch/Antivj and commissioned by Nuit Blanche Metz and Centre Pompidou Metz. Loosely inspired by the work and research of deep-sea expert Peter A. Since this was our first big projection mapping project integrating Cinder in production from the early stages, and because I used it to create most of the visual content, this post is going to have a big emphasis on software development.

When looking at the curves of the architecture, the idea of flow came immediately to mind and we started looking into the idea of the sea and the crazy organisms that populate it. Our storyboard gave me some pretty clear leads on how to build the the software upon. Header photohraph by James Medcraft. Quadratura : pablo valbuena.
