We have 7 scenes with our first storyline and 4 scenes in the second one. To get from scene to scene we try and find a way to leave the scene so there is purpose for the characters exit. Elainajohnston. Z for Zachariah, is a novel about a teenage girl named Ann Burden who lives in a non-radioactive valley, called Burden Valley.
After a nuclear holocaust, Ann Burden thinks she is the only person left on earth, until, a mysterious man with a plastic suit on arrives at her house one morning. Ann is not sure whether to trust this man or not, so she keeps her distance for the first few days, hiding up in a cave, but when the mysterious man becomes sick from swimming in a radioactive stream, she must help him, after all, he is the only other person left on earth.
Ann Burden helps him get better and he seems like a good person to Ann, she starts planting crops, and getting the valley full of life, but, that all changes when the mysterious man turns out to be completely different than what Ann intended.
