Special stitches. Author Marianne Martin Introduction Ribbed Sweater Hobo/Tote I recently found an amazing bag picture on the web and it turned out the instructions were only in an obscure japanese mag that would have cost me an arm and a leg to order (not to mention... it's in japanese). Inspired, I decided to improvise a similar one that looks like a nice ribbed sweater. Keep in mind that this project requires some (simple but unusual) assembly and that since it was improvised, it's not uber-precise.
Materials List One skein of Bernat Super Value (7 oz) or any other worsted weight yarn 4mm hook - a hook one size smaller than the recommended size. Fabric for lining, sewing supplies etc. Finished Size Crocheted in Bernat Super Value, the bag should measure approx. 15 inches wide and 12 inches high. Gauge Gauge is not critical for this project. Notes scblo - single crochet in back loop only scblo2tog - scblo decrease. For the decorative touches, slip stitch through fabric + bobbles (instructions are easy to find) Body. Turquiose crochet purse! Very Cute! NOW WITH TUT! I don't really know what kind of purse this is. I just saw some really cute ones like this all around this site but none were crocheted.
I started it last night and finished it this morning. It doesn't take that long to make. It was a really fun project. Kinda blurry, needs to be lined but i don't think i'll do that. Yarn inside to hold it's shape. Me modeling it. And one last look. Tutorial!!! I made this pattern up as I went. This is basically two half circles chained together. The handle is just sc back and forth till desired length is reached then you just stitch the handle to the purse. sc - single crochetdc - double crochethdc - half double crochet Purse pattern Chain 4 then close to form a circle1st round – crochet 7 sc in middle of circle 2nd round – sc twice in first 5 chainsturn and start back the other way (now all you do is crochet half of the circle and turn back every time you finish that round.) 3rd round – sc twice in the now 10 chains 4th round – dc and chain 1 in the 20 chains.
Uncinetto Ricamo Lavori Maglia Bambini Scuole Mani di Fata. Bobbles. Inspiration for Bobbles came from this bag. Needless to say, it has a lot of bobbles which may not be to everyone,s liking, but I had never crochet these before so I enjoyed doing it. Also I have to carry around a lot of baby stuff, so I thought it was a classier way to carry it. Crochet part was not very hard but writing down the pattern was. I made the handles myself. Material:· Acrylic yarn (light fingering) off-white ( I used three strands throughout)· Crochet hook size 4.5 mm· Fabric for lining· Cardboard for bottom· One zipper· A pair of purse handles (I made mine myself) Size: approx. 13 inches in height and 16 inches in width Drawstring with tassels: Using 6 strands of yarn, chain a desired length of drawstring. Fat+bottom+bag.jpg. Crochet Hobo Bag. I saw this bag and it totally drove me crazy!
For days! Can you imagine? As alluring as it could be, I had to restrain myself from placing another order to Knitpicks. They have some really wonderful wool yarns that are so soft and easy to crochet. I placed my first and only order of Wool of the Andes chunky and was very delighted at the quality as well as the price. It is not a very difficult pattern to figure out at all. So here it is, my inagural design that I finally managed to write down.Crochet Hobo Bag(inspired by the above Nordstrom bag) Pattern written by Dao Lam Materials: 2 skeins Wool of the Andes Chunky (www.knitpicks.com) Hooks size K-11 (6.5mm), J-10 (6mm), and H-8 (5mm) Tapestry needle to weave in ends Lining fabrics of choice One set of magnetic snaps One purse handle (usually sold in a set of 2 but only need 1) Ribbon of choice Sewing threads that match color of yarn and lining (or invisible threads) Row 1: use hook K-11 (6.5mm) ch 44 To line bag: Attach handle to the bag.
Another knitting blog: Grocery Bag Purse. « Yay! I’m overweight! | Main | Dear Interweave Knits, » April 22, 2008 Grocery Bag Purse I didn't design this purse with Earth Day in mind, but the timing seems fortuitous. I've switched to reusable bags and was hoping to use up the plastic grocery bags that exploded from under my sink every time I opened the cupboard door. You will need: N (9mm) crochet hook (metal or plastic) 25-30 plastic grocery bags scissors closable stitch marker large darning needle Terminology:This is what *my* abbreviations mean, they aren't exactly standard sc = single crochet st, sts = stitch, stitches 2in1 = work 2 sc into 1 st, an increase [2in1]x2 = work 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts dec = sc decrease, make 2 sts into one You can find instructions for how to make the 'yarn' and another plastic bag pattern here.
A note about rounds and markers: Rounds are indicated with a marker in the last stitch of the round. I would recommend using a marker that closes, because open ended markers can easily slip out.
