Mama and Grandmama Make Apple Dumplings. I am so excited that this is apple week for Southern Plate.
The weather has turned cooler here and brought with it thoughts of beef stew and apple dumplings. Of course, I love apples cooked any way, Apple Dapple cake, fried apples, apple pie and these apple dumplings. Tonight I made a big pot of beef stew , a skillet of cornbread and a large casserole full of apple dumplings. Christy wanted me to take some pictures and send her the recipe that I use for apple dumplings. You will see that I am definitely not a photographer but the end product was delicious. Before I give you the recipe, let me tell you a little about how I went about making these dumplings. ~Mama Alright, this is where I step in and take over. Mama: Mama, this don’t look right. But I can’t think straight or see straight or do anything normal right now, except I can see the fridge, and I’m thinking there are maybe three bars left in there right now? Here, have another one. And how-is-half-the-pan-gone-already, and I’ll-just-even-out-this-row, and maybe-my-neighbor-doesn’t-need-all-four-of-those. You know those dessert bars that you make with full intentions to bring to chess club or soap making class or your apartment guards, but then you find yourself washing out the empty pan and realizing that you never really shared them?
I’m sure you can do better, though, and I’m sure your “friends” will love these. Right? Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheesecake Bars Author: Pinch of Yum Prep time: Mini chocolate cheesecakes. 2 Cover the cocottes with plastic film and fill them with the crumbs you have made, up to 1cm high.
Gently press with your fingers until the crumbs are a nice even layer at the bottom of each cocotte. Put them in the fridge while you make the cream. 4 Gently mix the philadelphia cheese with sugar until well combined. Meanwhile melt 100gr of dark chocolate in the microwave ( defrost mode), it should take about 5 minutes . 6 Pour into the mixture the whipped cream and mix well. 8 When the cheesecakes are ready, take them out by lifting up the plastic film , then, serve them immediately with chocolate flakes on top!
