Punaise!

BoardWalk Inn & Villas - Part 1 of 3 (The “World” According to Jack) The concept for a boardwalk was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1870.

This resort town had already established itself as a vacation mecca. Beautiful hotels, elegant restaurants, and the Atlantic Ocean beckoned the well-to-do and the middle class to spend a few days or a few weeks in luxury during the summer months. However, the close proximity to the beach caused a problem for businesses. Sand. People tracked it everywhere. It could be found in hotel and restaurant lobbies, in railroads, in guest rooms, shops -- everywhere. The Boardwalk was a success and in the years to come, was widened and extended several times. The Atlantic City Boardwalk was the inspiration for Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas, a deluxe property.

The BoardWalk Inn & Villas would also mark the second Disney Vacation Club Property (DVC) after Old Key West. Just like Atlantic City in days of old, Disney’s version of this getaway-by-the-sea would feature a hotel, restaurants, shops, nightclubs, and games. I like the ambiance on 12/18/2013 by Ahnalira I like the colorful ambiance of this resort, and Shutters (the full service restaurant) is a cozy "Disney secret"... good Caribbean style food.

It's a HUGE resort, though, so be prepared to walk a distance from the main area to your room. If you like walking that can be a plus, but if you're tired after a day at the parks..not so much :P The rooms are the standard "moderate" variety for a Disney resort..the ones that have been refurbished are much more updated. I would always ask to get one of these. Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House - Part One (The “World” According to Jack) The Animal Kingdom Lodge presented the Imagineers with a challenge. You don’t come across too many massive six story buildings out on the Serengeti. So how do you disguise an enormous hotel to look like an authentic, intimate structure that you might actually find someplace in East Africa? The answer to this problem was twofold. First, you use landscaping to camouflage and conceal. Trees and shrubbery hide most of the building’s outward appearance as you approach the hotel.

From the moment you pass the guard shack, you are surrounded by a lush, tropical forest. Your view is completely shrouded in greenery. If you plan on letting Bell Services take care of your luggage and drive to the resort’s porte-cochère and drop-off area, you only see a fraction of the actual building. A small hint of the details to come can be seen on the resort’s driveway. The colors of the Animal Kingdom Lodge are that of the earth. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge ~ A Most Unique and Fun Resort. If you have never stayed at this most interesting and unique resort at Walt Disney World, then let me share some of my stays there with you. It is definitely a resort to put on the Disney Must Stay at Bucket List. Every time, I get to stay there I am in awe of the design and detail of both the inside and the outside of this resort. On the inside there is a definite African themed feel, beginning with colors like brown, yellow and red. The African sculptures and paintings along the hallways and in the lobby are magnificent; all from Africa. The pictures give you a great understanding of the culture of Africa and its people. As for the outside well since the theme is African you have a very big Savannah surrounding it with all the animals you might see on safari, well except for the carnivores. If you are lucky enough to get a Savannah View, it is very worth it because the animals you will get to see are amazing.

This resort is great for the whole family, lots to do and see. Disney FUN !! Animal Kingdom Lodge. The 10 Best Disney Resorts at Disneyland or Disney World - TouringPlans.com Blog. Having spent more time in Disney parks and more time staying in Disney hotels then any non-Disney employed person really has the right to, I thought I’d list my favorite Disney theme park resorts in order. The Unofficial Guide does a wonderful job of comparing hotels by value, room size, and many other considerations. My list doesn’t take value or any scientific factors into account at all! This is simply the list of the 10 hotels that I most enjoy staying in when visiting a Disney park. In some cases, only certain room types or views merit making the list. Paradise Pier, for example, made the list, but only a theme park view room. I wouldn’t put the standard rooms in my top 10 at all. Some other hotels didn’t make the list that I’m sure some of you will find questionable.

There are over 20 tours available at Walt Disney World, and many of them come with hefty price tags (such as the $199 Holiday D-Lights tour). However, what many guests don’t realize is that there are also several free tours on property. I’m going to spend my next few reviews focusing on these complimentary tours, starting with my all-time favorite – Wonders of the Wilderness Lodge. Wonders of the Wilderness Lodge is a free, 1-hour tour which helps guests learn about the design and backstory of the Wilderness Lodge Resort and the neighboring Wilderness Lodge Villas.

Pedersen 20 Comments This just in: guests at Disney’s Pop Century Resort are reporting that as of today they are able to use free resort-wide wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) in their guest rooms. This adds another Disney World resort to the growing list now offering this amenity.

Roll out began at the Deluxe resorts last fall. Rumors about Wi-Fi offerings abound, suggesting the system will be rolled out to all Walt Disney World resorts in the near future. This is in addition to Disney’s February 29 filings to install property-wide Wi-Fi coverage in throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.
