Selon le dictionnaire, est qualifiée d'hérésie toute doctrine hétérodoxe condamnée par l'Eglise officielle. Ce n'est donc pas une spécificité chrétienne. Par commodité, on qualifie facilement d'hérétique une doctrine qui a fait long feu : il faut prendre garde aux anachronismes ! Avant le concile de Nicée (325), à tout le moins, il vaut mieux parler d'excommunication, d'anathème, ou simplement de condamnation par des chrétiens faisant autorité, comme Saint-Agustin par exemple. La représentation ci-dessous est quelque peu subjective : la couleur de l'hérésie est fonction de sa dominante, principalement christologique (nature de Jésus), principalement trinitaire, ou touchant à d'autres aspects du dogme.

Il l'a fait avec le sérieux et la constance qu'on lui connaissait, se levant à l'aube pour rédiger, corriger, travailler. Il y a pris un plaisir évident, conforté qu'il était par une mémoire des noms, des lieux et des dates qui ne l'a jamais lâché. Je suis convaincu que cette rédaction a maintenu son inspiration, voire prolongé la durée de sa vie!
