Journal of Operations Management - The impact of enterprise systems on corporate performance: A study of ERP, SCM, and CRM system implementations. Abstract This paper documents the effect of investments in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems on a firm's long-term stock price performance and profitability measures such as return on assets and return on sales.

The results are based on a sample of 186 announcements of ERP implementations, 140 SCM implementations, and 80 CRM implementations. Our analysis of the financial benefits of these implementations yields mixed results. In the case of ERP systems, we observe some evidence of improvements in profitability but not in stock returns. The Business of B2B Social Media. InShare2 Social Media is often misconstrued as a medium for business-to-consumer or B2C engagement and discounted as a viable communications network for those companies focused on business-to-business transactions. However, B2B, as in any other field impacted by online activity, is faced with a prime opportunity to not only cultivate communities in social networks and other social channels, but also amplify awareness, increase lead generation, reduce sales cycles, and perhaps most importantly, learn and adapt to market dynamics in real-time.

Ignorance is Bliss Until It’s Not… Customers and those that influence them, regardless of industry, are migrating to the social Web at varying paces. While social or digital strategies do not replace proven means that are in play today, they do however, require augmentation and shifts in resources commensurate with the distribution of attention, where it’s focused and to what extent. New technologies. Digital economy. Security. E-Government. ITIL and Governance. A question of trust. Andrew Tyrer Andrew Tyrer, Innovation Platform Manager at the Technology Strategy Board, explains how UK companies are helping to ensure that online services are trustworthy... Christmas 2011 is likely to have been the biggest year yet for internet shopping – Amazon recorded more than 600,000 more transactions on the first Monday of December 2011 (now dubbed Cyber Monday in the UK) compared with the same day in 2010. Christmas web sales are expected to rise 15 per cent on 2010, accounting for £7.75bn in sales. The need to create trusted digital spaces that allow businesses, government and consumers to operate with confidence across cyberspace is required now more than ever Andrew Tyrer But internet financial transactions – whilst becoming a common way for people to shop – are also likely to increasingly feature in the way that we deal with our routine personal administration and affairs in a whole host of areas, from taxation to paying bills with local government or official authorities.
