Escape the Fate. Escape the Fate is an American post-hardcore band from Las Vegas, Nevada formed in 2005 and originally from Pahrump, Nevada, they are currently signed to Eleven Seven Music. The group consists of Robert Ortiz (drummer), Max Green (bassist and backing vocalist), Craig Mabbitt (lead vocalist), TJ Bell (rhythm guitarist), and Kevin "Thrasher" Gruft (lead guitarist). Band history Formation and Dying Is Your Latest Fashion (2004–2006) Later in September 2006, the band released their first full-length album, Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, which charted moderately on Billboard's Heatseeker and Top Independent charts. In November 20, 2007, they released the Situations EP,[5][6] it was also the last extended play that Ronnie Radke and Omar Espinosa made with the band.[7][better source needed] Departure of Espinosa and Radke (2007-2008) Mabbitt's arrival and This War Is Ours (2008–2010) On October 1, 2008, the band released "This War Is Ours (The Guillotine II)" for download.[12]

The Used. The Used is an American rock band from Orem, Utah, that formed in 2001. The group consists of lead vocalist and keyboardist Bert McCracken, guitarist Quinn Allman, bassist Jeph Howard, and drummer Dan Whitesides who replaced founding member Branden Steineckert in 2006. Albums by The Used have achieved gold and platinum statuses in many countries worldwide.[2] The band has also developed a cult following.

History[edit] Formation and Demos from the Basement (2001)[edit] The Used was founded in January 2001 with the recruitment of members Branden Steineckert, Quinn Allman and Jeph Howard.[3] They had music already prepared, but did not have lyrics and required a vocalist. They held auditions at Howard's residence,[4] but the band was not satisfied with any of the vocalists, describing the auditions as "terrible". Shaun Diviney, Andy Clemmensen and Bradie Webb met on the train to the Hunter School of Performing Arts in Newcastle, New South Wales. Eventually, they decided to form a band and named it Short Stack.

Originally, Shannon Hotchkins played drums, Webb played guitar, Clemmensen played bass and Diviney was the lead vocalist. 2005–2008: Early years[edit] Three years after the band members met, they entered Youthrock, a competition for school-based bands. They later returned to Youthrock in 2006, placing third.
