Cinzah Seekayem A lot of people don’t know that Cleopatra was an avid video gamer who played Crash Bandicoot incessantly, whilst listening to visually evocative podcasts about Amazonian, American Indian and South Pacific tribal cultures. After allowing these stimuli to settle and consolidate in her mind during long periods of deep meditation in baths of fresh milk, scented with honey, lavender and rose petals, she would evade her royal guards and make her way to her coveted, secluded spot on the banks of the Nile. During her whimsical stroll, she would gather up colourful flowers and adorn her hair with feathers from birds of paradise, whilst skipping and humming her favourite lute melodies to herself. Upon her arrival at her secret oasis, she would make herself comfortable on red silk pillows (a gift from the Emperor of China) and enjoy the warm breeze, the birds, bees and the unpredictable flow of water – noting the slow progress of the pyramids on the horizon.
Emotionally Vague: A Graphical Survey of Feelings
Just what do our emotions look like? It’s a simple question with extremely complex answers. Emotionally Vague , an interesting and extensive project to graphically display how our emotions look and feel in our body, surveyed 35 different countries to get to the bottom of the question . Using a simple survey of 250 participants between the ages of 6 & 75 years of age, the team researched how people experienced the feelings of anger, joy, fear, sadness and love. Given a piece of paper with human silhouettes, each participant was asked to graphically represent each of these emotions in 3 ways – as a point, as directional arrows and with complete expressive freedom.Last Friday we launched our new way for users to submit work for the Daily Inspiration at Abduzeedo. We call it RAWZ or Abduzeedo Raw Inspiration . Anybody can submit their work and we will select some to be featured on Abduzeedo. We also created a logo in Illustrator and then this cool effect in Photoshop, inspired by Tron. So in this tutorial I will show you how to create the RAWZ light effect in Photoshop.
