The Future of Google Earth? Mobile 3D City for iPad

Google Earth's new iPad application is simply fantastic , but what if it was in 3D? A limited preview of that kind of functionality is promised by a forthcoming iPad app called Mobile 3D City . Built by a French company called Newscape , as a demonstration of its technology that allows mobile devices to process large quantities of data, Mobile 3D City appeared on our radar today via a video posted to design blog PSFK . It appears that this app will cover just one city, and it certainly is a far cry from where Google Earth is today, but can you imagine if this kind of 3D experience was part of what Google's global ball of zooming, spinning and Wikipedia entries offered in the future? http://readwrite.com/2010/06/21/the_future_of_google_earth_mobile_3d_city_for_ipad
This is a step by step tutorial on how to make an HDRI sphere Globe and how to set up ambient occlusion pass. There are many ways on how to do these stuff, so I’m not saying this is the only effective way but this is usually how I do it when simply lighting a character render with HDRI. I use other methods but this is the most basic I can think of. Step 1: Of course, open Maya and open a scene, then load up your character. Cheers! http://blog.bttrove.org/tag/ambient-occlusion/

Screenshot of scene rendered with RRV [ 1 ] (simple implementation of radiosity renderer based on OpenGL) 79th iteration. Radiosity is a global illumination algorithm used in 3D computer graphics rendering . Radiosity is an application of the finite element method to solving the rendering equation for scenes with surfaces that reflect light diffusely . Unlike rendering methods that use Monte Carlo algorithms (such as path tracing ), which handle all types of light paths, typical radiosity methods only account for paths which leave a light source and are reflected diffusely some number of times (possibly zero) before hitting the eye; such paths are represented by the code "LD*E". Radiosity is a global illumination algorithm in the sense that the illumination arriving at the eye comes not just from the light sources, but all the scene surfaces interacting with each other as well.

Most 3d artists’ portfolios have at least a beautiful woman character in it and it will be no surprise that you’ll find a lot of them here. Now besides the curious gazing at these 3d pictures, you must realize the sisyphean work that is being put in these characters, the long hours to create the render and then applying the high quality texture to get incredible the incredible results illustrated below.
