Ons "Paasrondje" was schitterend. We hebben in Gemonde ( vlakbij onze woonplaats ) De LF7 opgepakt en hebben deze gevolgd tot aan Woudrichem. Een prachtig stuk over dijkjes en uiterwaarden van de Maas. Bij slot Loevestein zijn we met het voetveer overgestoken, een piepkleine veerpont ( een grote motorsloep ) We mochten met onze fietsen als eerste op de boot, de veerman was zeer behulpzaam met het in en uit de boot tillen van de fietsen, wat nogal een klus was, want de ligfietsen met volle bepakking zijn niet echt lichtgewicht. In Woudrichem hebben we overnacht op camping de Mosterdpot.
Niet echt de mooiste en beste camping, maar we hadden een goede plek op een groot grasveld en de douches waren warm en voor 50 cent had je 7 minuten warm water. Paaszondag zijn we van de LF7 overgestapt naar de LF9 die we tot voorbij Breda gevolgd hebben. De 2e nacht hebben we gekampeerd op het natuurkampeerterrein bij Alphen: Landgoed de Hoevens. As a multimode bicycle traveller I use a lot of maps, but I’m also a mapaholic so I probably spend more time playing with and exploring maps and using them to plan journeys than most people. Online mapping is a huge benefit, especially as you can often access a variety of maps of the same place to see different aspects and cross check what’s going on. I’ve been a fan of multimap.com for a long time. Now multimap has been subsumed into Microsoft’s Bing competitor to Google so it will be interesting to see how they develop it. At the moment they have cleaned up the interface a little (some aspects are a bit less usable) and they are soliciting feedback on the mapping and how you use it.
They have also added some very minimal topographical shading, not enough to be of use to cyclists and not as good by a mile as the contours on Open Cycle Map.
