Fringe belt. If you follow me on twitter then you know I always start my day off by listening to a playlist on my itunes titled “Hello…Good Morning”.

Fringe belt

This is a playlist of songs that inspire and motivate me to tackle the day, including: Power by Kanye West, Big Pimpin by Jay Z, All I Do Is Win by DJ Khaled, Working 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton and many, many more. I recently added Beyonce’s Run The World (Girls) to the list. I’m beyond excited because now Mrs. Knowles-Carter has blessed us with a video that’s equally as fabulous as the song! Houston, Texas baby! This video is gritty and glamorous and packed full of fantastic do-it-yourself ideas. This headband situation… This turtleneck/ necklace combo… Ummmm hello… these earrings! These shoes… duh… But I’d love to think Beyonce and her stylist Ty Hunter watched my E! If you were able to catch my DIY segment on E! Materials: A fancy belt (the one pictured is from Target), 2 yards of fringe, glue, scissors Glue two rows of fringe to the back of the belt.

Embellished Headband. Last month my friend Jenni from I Spy DIY was in town to host a DIY party at the Soho House LA.

Embellished Headband

We had such a fantastic time making bold fashion accessories. Her technique for making tribal necklaces gave me the inspiration for embellishing headbands. I think embellished headbands make the perfect gift for that girlie girl on your Holiday list… Materials: Headbands, Rhinestones, Embroidery Thread, Glue Glue your rhinestones to your headband. Dab a small amount of glue on one of the the inside ends of your headband. Continue to wrap your thread around the headband, weaving it in and out of the rhinestones. Voila! From far away this headband reminds me of one of my fancy rhinestone covered friendship bracelets. Question: Have you gotten/made a gift for everyone on your list? Have you finished all your shopping? Happy Holidays! UPDATE: 14 was the randomly selected number! Congrats Jennifer! Hanging Chains Headband. While browsing Topshop last week, I came across this fun hanging chains headband and thought with Coachella right around the corner, an easy DIY for something similar would be fun.

Hanging Chains Headband

I used an old plastic zig zag stretchy comb headband I’ve had for years because it was the most logical choice to hang chains from but you can use an elastic band in a similar way. The chains disappear a little in my blonde hair but they would stand out really pretty agains brunette locks {it would also look great on a shorter cut as well}. If you’re super crafty, add a feather or bead/charm to the bottom of a few chains. What You’ll Need… * Circular headband* Chains: fine, thick, gold, silver, rose gold… use a variety of colors and sizes or all the same… choose chains that are lighter in weight.* Jump rings {for small chains only}* Beading pliers Steps… * Prepare your chains.

. * Using the extra loose chain links or jump rings for small chains, attach one chain to each section of your plastic headband. And…Voila!
