Okkervil River. Okkervil River is an American indie rock band from Austin, Texas.

Formed in 1998, the band takes its name from a short story by Russian author Tatyana Tolstaya. They self-released their first album, Stars Too Small to Use, which led them to the South by Southwest music festival. After recording their first album in a garage, they signed with Jagjaguwar. Okkervil River continued by releasing four more albums, including the critically lauded concept album Black Sheep Boy.[1] After a period of touring for Black Sheep Boy, Okkervil River followed up with The Stage Names.

Okkervil River released the album The Stand Ins on 9 September, 2008. Noah and the Whale are a Folk/Rock English band from Twickenham, London, England formed in 2006.[2] The band consists of Charlie Fink (vocals, guitar), Tom Hobden (Violin/keys), Matt "Urby Whale" Owens (bass guitar), Fred Abbott (guitar/keys), and Michael Petulla (drums).

Doug Fink (drums), the brother of lead singer Charlie, and Laura Marling (backing vocals) are former members of the band. History[edit] Early years and Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down (2006–2008)[edit] The band released their debut album, entitled Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down, on 11 August 2008. The album peaked at Number 5 on the official UK Albums Chart and has received mostly positive reviews.[3] The album featured a brass accompaniment, provided by Jon Carvell (trombone) and Sam Kinrade (trumpet). The First Days of Spring (2009)[edit] The First Days of Spring has been met with very positive reviews, showing more critical acclaim than their previous release. Last Night on Earth (2010–2012)[edit] No Age. No Age is a two-person experimental punk group consisting of guitarist Randy Randall and drummer/vocalist Dean Allen Spunt.

The band is based in Los Angeles and is currently signed to Sub Pop records. History[edit] Formation, EPs, and Weirdo Rippers[edit] Sub Pop, touring, and Nouns[edit] A No Age music video for the song "Goat Hurt" is included on a DVD entitled New Video Works released by Dean Spunt's label, Post Present Medium.[12] The song is off of the band's out of print Dead Plane EP, but was also available through a limited edition 10" EP made available at the Fuck Yeah! Losing Feeling and Everything In Between–present[edit] The group released the 4 song EP Losing Feeling on October 6, 2009 on Sub Pop.

On April 1, 2010, No Age performed a Live Score at the Red Cat Theatre in Los Angeles for the film Aanteni directed by Todd Cole for the fashion designers Rodarte.
