Essential Oils from Mountain Rose Herbs. Our essential oils are 100% pure steam distilled aromatic oils with no carrier oils, diluents, or other ingredients added. We offer one of the largest Certified Organic selections, and we source the world’s finest 100% pure essential oils from reputable distillers we know and trust. Our essential oils are supervised by our Certified Aromatherapist Christine Guerts for extraction methods, material used, data reports, purity, and quality. All of the essential oils offered by Mountain Rose Herbs are obtained by steam distillation of whole plant material with two exceptions: Absolutes/Resins- are extracted with a solvent, usually alcohol and sometimes other hydrocarbons, such as benzene, hexane, etc.

While they are not suitable for therapeutic aromatherapy, they do make wonderful perfumes and are alcohol soluble. Those oils which we have found to be extracted with solvents will be noted as “solvent extracted”. Deodorant. Several months ago I posted a recipe for making your own deodorant. For a simple recipe, you can easily just mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 8oz of hot water for a quick and easy shampoo...not to mention cheap. However, if you want to dress it up a bit, check out the recipe below. {Ingredients} 1/3 Cup Castile Soap (You can get this at health food stores) 1/4 Cup Coconut Milk 1/2 tsp of Vegetable Oil or Olive Oil Directions: Mix the ingredients together and pour it into a squirt bottle or even an old shampoo bottle.

It only takes about a teaspoon of this mixture to wash your hair, much less than conventional shampoo. You'll find using organic Castile soap does not necessarily make this recipe frugal. I love that it is free of harsh chemicals and smelled great too! {Related Posts} Shampoo Recipe - Make Your Own Shampoo - Natural Shampoo. "If you want to gather honey, don't kick over the beehive. "~ Dale Carnegie We all have hair -- some more, some less. (Some of us even have it where we don't want it!) And maybe that color is even naturally yours (yeah, right!) I actually have a lot of nerve writing anything about hair. What I can write about with authority, though, is that daily care with wholesome products can help keep your hair -- if you've got it -- strong and strikingly beautiful. Now once you've made your selection and finally commence the act of shampooing, remember to always massage your scalp slowly but thoroughly with your fingertips, to vigorously stimulate the circulation of blood on the skin wrapping around your skull.
