Spurred by a new environment (Brooklyn) and the insanely creative collective of folks that revolve around Paxico Records and our wonderful affiliates, rxn pushed out all of footnotes in the first month he was here. Because this tape is essentially an aural snapshot of summer in New York, we felt we had to capture the smells and tastes of footnotes as well as rxn's music with our tape release, so we had our own Paxico field chemists capture a specially blended pocket of air and seal it in each cassette case.

Today, we are talking to Awon to find out more about his journey to “Return To The Golden Era” and what is next on the list. 34-year-old Awon, born Antwan Wiggins, was bred into the Hip Hop culture; the emcee originates from Brooklyn, New York but was in fact raised in Newport News, Virginia. He immersed himself in the soulful, jazzy underground music scene amongst the likes of The Roots and A Tribe Called Quest. It therefore comes as no surprise that his style meshes indisputably well with the jazz-infused sounds of Phoniks. Combined with Awon’s pure Hip-Hop emceeing style, which is reminiscent of those who influenced him, exploded many outstanding hip hop projects. Felfelosophy spoke to Awon about his musical inspirations and roots, visions for the future, and more. Read on to find out.

Si le cross est positionné au milieu, le son des deux platines sortiront. Régler le fader sur une course courte (ou logarithmique) : Si votre table est réglée avec une course courte, dès que le cross sera déplacé (même de un centimètre), le volume de votre piste sera au maximum. Réglage du crossfader sur une course longue (ou linéaire) : Si votre table n’est pas dédiée à l’univers du rap, il y a de fortes chances pour que votre cross possède ce réglage par défaut.
