This years competition was a little different as there were some rules and guidelines to follow that somewhat restricted what you could submit. First, the image had to relate to the city in which you live... in my case it is Detroit, the "MotorCity". Home of the once Big Three and a long history of automobile manufacturing. Detroit also had the first mile of road paved with concrete in the world, combine that with our music heritage and diverse community you have my two entries for the UU. Second, the 3 finalists' artwork will be put on t-shirts for sale in the UU shop, so the design would have to work on white unless you wanted your final design to be boxed on the t-shirt... which I didn't.
