ESA FAQ: What does the SBRS value of "none" mean, and how can you detect these scores? Introduction This document describes how to understand and detect the SenderBase Reputation Score (SBRS). What does the SBRS value of "none" mean, and how can you detect these scores? The SBRS is assigned to an IP address based on over 50 different factors, such as email volume, user complaints, and spamtrap hits.

The SBRS can range from -10 to +10, and reflects the probability that mail from a sending IP address is spam. Highly negative scores indicate senders who are very likely to send spam; highly positive scores indicate senders who are unlikely to send spam. However, some IP addresses have a SenderBase score of "none. " Otherwise, the SenderBase score is based on objective data that SenderBase collects about an IP address. Note: A score of "none" does not equate to a score of "0". It is easy to add "none" reputation senders to a SENDERGROUP via the web GUI: Go to Mail Policies > HAT Overview and choose a SENDERGROUP.

Cisco Identity Services Engine Upgrade Guide, Release 1.3 - Upgrade Methods for Different Types of Deployments [Cisco Identity Services Engine] Upgrade one of your Monitoring nodes (node H) to the new deployment.

We recommend that you upgrade your Primary Monitoring Node before the Secondary Monitoring Node (this is not possible if your Primary Administration Node in the old deployment functions as your Primary Monitoring Node as well). Your primary Monitoring node starts to collect the logs from the new deployment and you can view the details from the Primary Administration Node dashboard. If you have only one Monitoring node in your old deployment, before you upgrade it, ensure that you enable the Monitoring persona on node A, which is the Primary Administration Node in the old deployment.

Node persona changes result in a Cisco ISE application restart. Wait for node A to come up before you proceed. If node B, the Primary Administration Node in the new deployment, did not have the Monitoring persona enabled in the old deployment, disable the Monitoring persona on it. Cisco Identity Services Engine Upgrade Guide, Release 1.3 - Before You Begin [Cisco Identity Services Engine] If you encounter a problem, such as network outage or application startup failure, even after sequencing the NICs, check the downloaded version of the bundle. It is possible that you might have downloaded a previous version of the bundle that resulted in the inconsistent state of the NICs. Verify that the bundle has the following MD5 checksum: 76e17877c2fb70d1006a20780fbf5b98.

If there is network outage or application startup failure following upgrade, as a result of using an older bundle, you can re-image the failed node with Cisco ISE 1.2 software, register it to the old deployment, and restore the operations backup (if the node had a Monitoring persona). Then, you can attempt to perform the upgrade using the latest bundle again. This recovery step is suitable for a Secondary Administration Node, which is the first node to be upgraded in a deployment.

Ensure that you follow the steps mentioned in the Sequence Network Interface Cards (NICs) after Pre-Upgrade Check section. We’ve already covered installing Tomato on your router and how to connect to your home network with OpenVPN and Tomato.

Now we are going to cover installing OpenVPN on your DD-WRT enabled router for easy access to your home network from anywhere in the world! What is OpenVPN? A virtual private network (VPN) is a trusted, secure connection between one local area network (LAN) and another. Think of your router as the middle man between the networks that you’re connecting to. Both your computer and the OpenVPN server (your router in this case) “shake hands” using certificates that validate each other. Upon validation, both the client and server agree to trust each other and the client is then allowed access on the server’s network.

Typically, VPN software and hardware cost a lot of money to implement. For more information about OpenVPN, visit the official What Is OpenVPN? Prerequisites This guide also assumes that you own a Linksys WRT54GL and have a general understanding of VPN technology.

Network Engineer Blog - Tips and Reviews for Network Professionals. 3 WAN Protocols: HDLC, PPP, and Frame-Relay You Should Know » Router Switch Blog. Your company is connected to the Internet, isn’t it? So what WAN protocol do you use to connect to the Internet? Chances are, that if you have a T1 leased line to the Internet or a private network between locations, you use one of these 3 WAN Protocols: HDLC, PPP, or Frame-relay. Let’s explore the differences and similarities of these protocols. What is HDLC? HDLC stands for High-Level Data Link Control protocol. Like the two other WAN protocols mentioned, HDLC is a Layer 2 protocol (see OSI Model for more information on Layers).

HDLC is a simple protocol used to connect point to point serial devices. HDLC performs error correction, just like Ethernet. HDLC is actually the default protocol on all Cisco serial interfaces. What is PPP? You may have heard of the Point to Point Protocol (PPP) because it is used for most every dial up connection to the Internet. The differences between PPP and HDLC are: NOTE: How to Configure PPP on Cisco Router? What is Frame-Relay? WAN & WAN Devices. Introduction Load sharing allows a router to distribute the outgoing and incoming traffic among multiple paths. The paths are derived either statically or with dynamic protocols, such as: Routing Information Protocol (RIP) Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Protocol Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP) By default, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) selects only a single best path and does not perform load balancing. Cisco Aironet 3700 Series - At-a-Glance. Cisco WLC High Availability | Network Guy. I’m currently in a project where a school needs to integrate a wireless network. They buy a Cisco WLC 5508 with built-in license for 25 access points (AIR-CT5508-25-K9) and a WLC for high availability (AIR-CT5508-HA-K9). The HA-WLC is automatically sharing the configuration and the license for 90 days from the main WLC. I will show you how to make a wireless-controller-cluster.

First you can completely configure the first WLC as you wish. What is a VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP)? “VTP allows a network manager to configure a switch so that it will propagate VLAN configurations to other switches in the network” VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) is a Cisco proprietary Layer 2 messaging protocol that manages the addition, deletion, and renaming of VLANs for the Cisco Catalyst Switches in the same VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) domain.

VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) enables Cisco Catalyst Switches to exchange and maintain consistent VLAN information amongst a group of Cisco Catalyst Switches. For example, information for the VLAN 50 defined in Cisco Catalyst Switch A is propagated via VTP updates to all other Cisco Catalyst Switches (Switches B, C and D) in the same VTP domain, the other Cisco Catalyst Switches B, C and D will all end up adding VLAN 50 in their local VLAN data base.

VTP is available on most of the Cisco Catalyst Family products. The comparable IEEE standard in use by other manufacturers is GVRP. How Private VLANs Work? PPDIOO Lifecycle Approach to Network Design and Implementation > Analyzing the Cisco Enterprise Campus Architecture. PPDIOO stands for Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, and Optimize. PPDIOO is a Cisco methodology that defines the continuous life-cycle of services required for a network. PPDIOO Phases The PPDIOO phases are as follows: Prepare: Involves establishing the organizational requirements, developing a network strategy, and proposing a high-level conceptual architecture identifying technologies that can best support the architecture. The prepare phase can establish a financial justification for network strategy by assessing the business case for the proposed architecture.

Benefits of a Lifecycle Approach The network lifecycle approach provides several key benefits aside from keeping the design process organized. Lowering the total cost of network ownership Increasing network availability Improving business agility Speeding access to applications and services The total cost of network ownership is especially important into today's business climate.
