In its attempt to try to blend in some very recent events in the Indian political landscape with bollywood masala this Ali Abbas Zafar production turns out to be a controversial one, and gives an already seen vibe. Plot Samar Pratap (Saif) is son of a 3 term Indian Prime Minister, Devaki Nandan (Tigmanshu) but is totally opposite to his father in ideologies and way of working. Based on the struggles of a man who was falsely registered as dead in government records, Kaagaz, steaming now on Zee 5 had high hopes pinned to it. Plot Kaagaz is set in the era of emergency where Bharat Lal (Pankaj Tripathi) owns a small Band and plays in weddings and functions. When suggested by his friends and wife, he applies for a loan to expand his business. For a bank guarantee he goes to his uncle to get the property papers, which they fraudulently have transferred to their sons, by declaring Bharat dead in the government records.
Paurashpur - A show best avoided. Paurashpur, the latest Alt Balaji offering is a series which pretends to be bold and pathbreaking, pretends to be about fighting patriarchy and revenge, but in reality comes across as an erotica with very low production values and CGI.
Plot Paurashpur is the fictional kingdom in the 16th Century, which is ruled by men who treat women just as objects of desire, lust and as slaves. The King Bhadra Pratap (Annu Kapoor) is the evil king who is impotent and keeps on marrying several princesses, who mysteriously keep on disappearing. Queen Meerawati, first queen of Bhadra Pratap is the only queen surviving, given the fact that she neither confronts the king, infact makes arrangements for his pleasure. Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi - A Decent Satire. Ramprasad ki Tehrvi, the first theatrical release of 2021 is now running in theatres. Directed by veteran Seema Pahwa from Hum Log, the movie is a satire woven between the of death of Ramprasad (Naseeruddin Shah) and his Tehrvi. Plot Ramprasad ki Tehrvi as the name suggests is the family drama which starts when a music teacher Ramprasad dies and all his children come to their home for the rituals. Ramprasad’s 4 sons Gajraj (Manoj Pahwa), Manoj (Ninad Kamat), Pankaj (Vinay Pathak) and Nishant (Parambrata Chatterjee), and 2 daughters along with their husbands arrive for the rituals, and as the days pass by the cracks and issues within the relationships begin to appear.
The movie slowly proceeds with some very relatable sequences, be it the one where everyone asks for tea at night or the long queues for toilet in the morning. Plot AK Vs AK is as close as a fiction movie can get to reality. A yesteryear’s superstar insults a talented yet not so commercially successful director, and the director comes up with an idea of a film which will get him his revenge.
