I also wanted the project to be inexpensive, and the materials used to be things I already had on hand. I was inspired by memories of making faux-stained glass in elementary school and came up with these fun little glass votive holders.

This project is quick and easy, and a great way to whip up custom party décor on the cheap. Materials. Recycled Wall Art. Maggie and her husband Jeff have a large, blank wall in their house that has been taunting them since they moved in. With both of them having strong creative opinions, it has been hard to agree on what to hang there. That is until they saw this post from Tali at Growing Up Creative. "There's such beauty to the written word, both in what it says and how the letters look on the page," he says. "I wanted to make the most of this, providing the printed word with another level of expression. " To do so, Paul recommends looking at lettering in terms of its font, at book pages in terms of their color ("I love the way aging pages range from cream to yellow," he says), and at sentiments in terms of their graphic appeal. A crisp, fresh coat of white was the perfect solution to make a statement. I purchased these two bookcases from Walmart about 2 years ago. Each were around $100 and were not the best of quality (duh, look at the pricetag). Anyway, they fit the bill at the moment, but recently the shelves started to bow.
