Arthur Baker was born on the West coast of the United States. He studied letter forms and historical calligraphic styles, about which he wrote many books. Baker designed his own pens and brushes. Neil had interest in computer generated type recently, so decided to take it upon himself to try and create the alphabet within a two week period. The idea was simple, each letter to be created and be recognisable as that letter from childhood times. A is for…, B is for…, C is for…, you get the concept. He wants the special created website to work as a sketch sheet for art directors to quickly reference styles and ideas that can be incorporated into larger pieces. Alpha Typography.
