TeamLab Borderless: A visitor’s guide to Tokyo’s new jaw-dropping interactive light museum

People around the world added a new destination to their Japan bucket list on June 21, when world-leading Japanese digital art collective teamLab unveiled their new awe-inspiring permanent digital art museum. Produced in collaboration with local urban landscape developer Mori Building Co. Ltd., the amazing light displays are housed in their very own building, spread out over two floors in a huge space in Tokyo’s Odaiba district. Described as “Tokyo’s most Instagrammable spot“, we decided to stop by to see the place for ourselves, and as soon as we stepped inside we were blown away by the truly amazing works. ▼ Take a look at our video below to see some of the beauty in store for visitors.

Given that this is unlike any other experience in Japan, the Mori Building Digital Art Museum is quickly becoming one of the country’s most popular destinations. 1. 2. 3. 4.  The Creativity Post. River Styx. Physics Simulations and Artwork. Here is a 3D view of a hydrogren atom in the 4f state.

The left image was made in C++ using a technique described by Krzysztof Marczak to make it volumetric like a cloud of smoke. The right image was made in Mathematica by adding 2D cross-sectional layers. The animations were made in POV-Ray using DF3 density files. The right animation shows what a "12o" orbital might look like. POV-Ray has a built-in internal function for the 3d orbital: // runtime: 4 seconds camera{location 16*z look_at 0} #declare P=function{internal(53)}; #declare P0=P(0,3,0,0); box{-8,8 pigment{rgbt t} hollow interior{media{emission 0.5 density{function{(P(x,y,z,0)-1.2)/(P0-1.2)} color_map{[0 rgb 0][1 rgb 1]}}}}} Links Atomic Orbital - time-dependant hydrogen atom simulation, by ?

In my last post, Perceptions, I ended with some practical advice in our modern world: “At a certain point, each of you must come to a crossroads where you will choose whether or not to disconnect from society.

Wise Up, Wake Up. Drop Out by Greg Calise

Many of you already have. It is the only way to claim back your sanity. The world is in the great unravelling, and the safest place is not in it. You wouldn’t jump into a raging river, would you?” As you begin shedding false beliefs, your perspective from where you perceive the world shifts accordingly, immediately. As you go through this process, you begin peeling away the coverings, which reveals a much higher state of consciousness.

The world is very different from such a perspective. It is rather uncomfortable at times, being accosted by such horrendous events around the world, and the continuos indoctrination and propaganda in every facet of our lives, the stripping away of our freedoms, economy and our homes, and the fascist police buildup. What You'll Wish You'd Known

I never actually gave it, because the school authorities vetoed the plan to invite me.) When I said I was speaking at a high school, my friends were curious. What will you say to high school students? So I asked them, what do you wish someone had told you in high school? I'll start by telling you something you don't have to know in high school: what you want to do with your life. If I were back in high school and someone asked about my plans, I'd say that my first priority was to learn what the options were. It might seem that nothing would be easier than deciding what you like, but it turns out to be hard, partly because it's hard to get an accurate picture of most jobs. But there are other jobs you can't learn about, because no one is doing them yet.

And yet every May, speakers all over the country fire up the Standard Graduation Speech, the theme of which is: don't give up on your dreams.
