183. Jalapeno Popper Dip

That's right, it has become a huge deal in our home to sit and watch football. It only took my husband 44 years to finally decide that he likes football. I should rephrase that, that he likes to sit and watch football. He is no longer content to read the sports page and sip his coffee. He wants to see every play first hand. I thought I was one of the few wives left on earth that was lucky enough to not have my Sundays and Mondays ruled by a football schedule. It is a schedule because the NFL has the gall to play more than two teams on any given day…LOL I am saying this all in tongue and cheek because I love football. I have enjoyed having the time to spend with my hubby and with our kids. This dip is popular throughout the web and can be found on numerous blogs, Pinterest accounts and feeds. The dip can be made up the night before and the topping can be ready to go in a baggie.

Recipe: Jalapeno Popper Dip 6-8 slices of bacon, diced and cooked crispy 1 cup of mayonnaise Topping: Individual Seven-Layer Dips. These Individual Seven-Layer Dips are individually portioned dips perfect for parties and get togethers.

Individual Seven-Layer Dips

No double dipping here! We keep it pretty minimal when it comes to toys for our kids on Christmas but yet somehow I feel like there’s STUFF everywhere! Anyone else feel this way? We’re swimming in Legos over here and just when I think I’ve cleaned up the last of them, I’ll step on one or one of my boys will drop their ships and Lego pieces go flying everywhere. I think my husband spent 6 straight hours on Christmas helping them build Legos. Seven layer dip is one of my favorites. All the pretty layers turn into an unidentifiable, unappetizing pile. My sister told me about the idea of individual seven layer dips as a party idea.

The great thing about seven layer dip is that you can adjust it to your personal tastes. Now, you could make these in glass tumblers too, but we are pretty casual over here so plastic tumblers are the way we roll. Garnish with one tortilla chip. Print Ingredients. Mel's Kitchen Cafe. And so…another week of my anti-Sugar Rush continues.

Mel's Kitchen Cafe

Well, not that I’m anti-sugar, but like I explained last week, I am changing it up this year and doing two weeks of savory, delectable appetizer “treats” with a highlighted recipe from years past of Sugar Rush. I feel a little redundant swooning over each of the recipes I’ve posted with Sugar Rush Reinvented, but I’m telling you, I hit on some wondrous recipes this go-round. Even though I stated the pinwheels were my favorite, I had to sidestep that claim when the pizza bites knocked my socks off, and now…if the quantity of queso blanco dip I devoured (rephrase: me and the baby devoured) is any indication, this might be my actual favorite. Until tomorrow, that is. So creamy. Click HERE to see all of this year’s Sugar Rush Reinvented recipes.

Note: White American cheese can be found at the deli counter in most grocery stores. Ingredients Directions Heat the oil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Jalapeño Popper Dip. I love any excuse I can come up with for making, and subsequently devouring, all sorts of delicious dips.

You might remember that back right before Christmas my friend Beth held a “dip party” at her house. That gathering brought us the Buffalo Chicken Dip, Hot Reuben Dip, and the Sausage Dip. It was a seriously genius idea. Now that the NFL lockout is over and we’re guaranteed the ability to watch football through the fall and early winter, I’m celebrating with a football-season worthy dip. This is a perfect time of year to introduce this dip – it’s a great choice for all of your late-summer gatherings, and is perfect for any game-day get-togethers you’re planning once the season gets under way.

Tequila Infused Queso Fundido with Chorizo. The first time we ever had the treat of trying Queso Fundido was at a festive restaurant in Portland called Oba several years ago.

Tequila Infused Queso Fundido with Chorizo

We were immediately in love, it was like Mexican style fondue. For Halloween we usually order pizza or make something casual and indulgent. This year we decided making some queso fundido with chorizo would be the perfect simple meal to snack on while hanging out waiting for the trick-or-treaters to ring the doorbell. Rick Bayless' Fiesta at Rick's is the latest of his cookbooks that we've added to our collection. And as you can see from all of the stickies is definitely been put to good use already. Skinny Queso Dip. A zesty chunky cheese dip with chunks of tomatoes, hot peppers, garlic, onions, lime juice, cilantro and spices.

Skinny Queso Dip

Get the chips ready, this stuff is good while it's hot! Skinny queso, it sounds like an oxymoron, right? This is a perfect appetizer to serve for the Superbowl, I'm adding this one to the list.
