The new cameras are built around the same 5-megapixel CMOS imager featured in the high performance Spark SP-5000 cameras, but offer a smaller form factor (29 mm x 29 mm x 41.5 mm, excluding lens mount) and weigh only 46 grams – one of the lightest cameras available at this resolution. For example, by creating a centered 1920 x 1080 ROI, users can configure the GO-5000 to provide high-speed 1080p HD video that fits completely within the optical format of a 2/3” C-mount lens. This is in contrast to CMOS cameras with 5.5 micron pixels which generate 1080p image sizes that are slightly larger than the standard 2/3” optical circle, thus requiring more expensive 1” image optics to ensure that vignetting will not occur. A robust and entirely automatic object-based image analysis (OBIA) procedure was developed on a series of UAV images using a six-band multispectral camera (visible and near-infrared range) with the ultimate objective of generating a weed map in an experimental maize field in Spain. The OBIA procedure combines several contextual, hierarchical and object-based features and consists of three consecutive phases: 1) classification of crop rows by application of a dynamic and auto-adaptive classification approach, 2) discrimination of crops and weeds on the basis of their relative positions with reference to the crop rows, and 3) generation of a weed infestation map in a grid structure. My connections through my university research appointment weren't strong enough to get ublox to sample a dev kit to me (they generally don't sample them at all). Jordi and Chris from 3DRobotics.com were kind enough to use their customer relationship with ublox to get a sample 6T module and provided it to me mounted on the standard DIYDrones ublox LEA-6 module. So mine looks just like the one above, except it has a 6T module instead of a 6H. My prime curiosity was how good the carrier phase measurements from this module were. The datasheet indicates that carrier phase measurements are available, but gives no specs about their accuracy. OK, what is carrier phase and why do I care? A carrier phase measurement is a measurement of the phase of the arriving carrier wave signal from the gps satellite.
