Tae Kim's Guide to Learning Japanese

This column, which was carried in The Daily Yomiuri from April 12, 1999, to May 15, 2011, is a conversation class for learners of the Japanese language. It was written by Hitomi Hirayama, a Japanese teacher with more than 20 years of experience, and the founder of Shibuya Ward-based Japanese Lunch, a Japanese language school that has served businesspeople in Tokyo since 1989. On top of face-to-face sessions, Japanese Lunch offers net-based Japanese lessons, enabling people living outside Japan to take lessons through the school.
