My Hand // Leather Embroidery Samplers – Part Two – Flash of the Hand. April 30, 2014 by Erin Fletcher All six of my leather embroidered samplers are now complete and I’m so thrilled to share them with you.
If you missed part one, you can check it out here. The sampler above is on buffalo skin and showcases a variety of chain stitches. This sampler is by far the most successful of the bunch and is already coming in handy as I am in the early stages of designing a fine binding. Below is the couching sampler on goatskin. During the covering process I nip the sampler in a press using foam sandwiched between two press boards to make sure the leather is fully adhered to the board. The running stitch sampler is on goat and was my first and least successful attempt. The scarlet goatskin sampler is adorned with a mixture of stitches, including a line of sequins at the bottom. The following sampler is showcasing another mixture of stitches such as the herringbone stitch (with variations) and the back stitch (with variations).

Anne-Marie Blanc, une lectrice de ce blog, m'a fait découvrir un site américain qui donne d'intéressantes explications. je m'en suis inspirée pour cet article. La fourche est la couture courbe qui va du milieu du devant au niveau de la taille au milieu du dos. C'est la clé du bon ajustement : si elle est trop courte, le pantalon tire à la taille, grimace et rentre entre les jambes. Si elle est trop longue, il pendouille.
Comment savoir de combien il faut agrandir ou diminuer la fourche ? 3/ aux mesures prises sur le corps, ajouter l'aisance (2 à 3 cm selon les goûts). 4/ sur le patron : - avec un ruban ou une règle souple, mesurer les longueurs de fourche sur les parties devant et dos du patron Augmenter de h la hauteur de fourche (cas 1) Diminuer de h la hauteur de fourche (cas 2) Moulage du corsage de base- Les métiers de la mode.
