This post is brought to you by Amazon where you can get deals on household supplies! This stuff saved my life this week! Well, OK…maybe that’s a BIT of an exaggeration…but not much! Let’s just say I had a HAIR EMERGENCY on Tuesday and was VERY GRATEFUL I had recently seen this idea by Danielle on Hookable Designs.
The funny thing is…I hadn’t originally intended on doing a post on this only because my hair is SO dry that I would never have the need to de-grease my hair. Here is my sad story…with a happy ending! Anyway…back to my sad…then happy…story. Sorry…having difficulty keeping on track today! So…I needed some professional “head shots” for some upcoming stuff and finally decided to bite the bullet and make an appointment. That morning I allowed myself plenty of time to get myself ready and went all-out in my primping session. I quickly located the recipe in my bookmarks and was thrilled to see I had all the ingredients on hand. I call it my: Oily Hair “Dry Cleaner” Ingredients: Beautyful / Fish tail plait with a twist. I’ve rediscovered muscles I’d forgotten I had….and somehow even managed to bruise my tailbone within the first ten minutes of bootcamp today. Dang you, Groupon, and your irresistible deal on bargain-priced fitness classes! I’m not really sure what the impetus was for the sudden burst of motivation to get in shape (besides the impulse Groupon purchase). I feel like we were so active in Montana this summer, then returned home and quickly fell back into our sedentary ways. There aren’t exactly a ton of mountains to climb here, but that’s no excuse for turning into a sloth. Of course, I decided that before I could even think about getting fit, I first needed to design a cute planner to track my progress. With planner in hand, I then went to town penciling in a simple workout schedule that hopefully I’ll be able to stick with. Download Printables Here: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 / 9. Sunday Planning – design finch.
I recently read a statistic that said every minute invested in planning will save you ten minutes down the road. I can personally attest that not only does a little planning ahead help with time management, but it also saves money and reduces stress. Don’t we all want more help in those areas? Um, I sure do! No matter how busy I am, I try to set aside about an hour on Sunday afternoons to prepare for the week ahead. Since today is Sunday and I’m in the process of doing my weekly planning, I felt inspired to share the tasks that keep me organized.
Check calendar for appointments.Make a “to do” list.Jot down a plan for dinners.Create a shopping list.Take items out of the freezer to defrost.Check the weather forecast.Iron work clothes for the week. When I don’t take the time to do these things on Sunday, I feel like I spend the rest of the week playing catch-up. They lift me up and help inspire me to be a better person. I have seen ideas online on creating a quote wall, so I decided to improvise and make my own. There was a small blank wall by my kids’ bathroom and it was the perfect spot. Instead of buying frames, I used canvases that I already had, except the 5×7 sizes. They had been under my bed for several years, so I knew they would be perfect!
And I was able to use what I had a home. Love that. I printed my prints at Costco, high quality and the best price around. I am really pleased with it and my kids really like it. Letter A Bookshelf Tutorial {3M DIY Starts Here} A few months ago (while I was still in the planning stages for my boys’ bedroom), I put out a plea on Facebook asking my blogging besties for help. I knew that I wanted to create a giant letter A and Z for above my boys’ beds, but I just wasn’t sure what material to use to make the letters. Fun fact: The “A” and “Z” in my blog name are in honor of my boys, Asher and Zephan.
Ten different, amazingly creative women chimed in with equally awesome and different ideas. Ack! How was I to choose?
