How to Make Leaf Skeletons - The Idea Room - StumbleUpon. I wanted to share with you a project from one of my readers who shares with us how to make leaf skeletons. I LOVE this! I have several leafs in various forms displayed in my home and knew I needed to make some of her leaf skeletons to add to my decor. I love how a pattern of leaves can enhance the beauty in your home. I have spent hours and tried various ways of making these. You need washing soda, not baking soda! Gather your leaves. Washing soda is a strong base so you may want to wear gloves when handling the leaves. You will add 3/4 cup of washing soda and 4 cups of water to your pot of leaves.

Small World Decoupage Globe (Vintage Disneyland Room) You all have seen the amazing decoupage globes created by Wendy Gold, right? They are so inspirational, and I would love to own one. This is one of my favorites, and one that I thought would fit into my kids' Vintage Disneyland Room pretty well: It reminds me of the Pixar movie UP. Carl and Ellie would have it in their house. The more I thought about a vintage globe in the vintage Disneyland room, the more I thought that I needed to make a small world globe that reflected the artistic style of one of my favorite Disney artists, Mary Blair. I found artwork online that I printed out and decoupaged onto the globe.
I found the different sun artwork at the Disneyland California Report, and the children from around the world were created by Greg Maletic for Hong Kong Disneyland. In fact, I used to collect little animal shaped tiffany lamps and I’d turn off all of the lights and only have my little frogs, kittens and turtles glowing. So when I saw these pretty little glass pebbles in the home decor aisle at Wal-Mart, I first thought of how pretty light would be coming through them. For this project you will need: glass pebbles (Wal-Mart about $4)glass votive holder (Wal-Mart about $5)votive (Wal-Mart about $1)lots of glue sticks and a hot glue gun I sat here for a while trying to figure this out when I decided just to do it.
I didn’t plan out the pieces, I just grabbed and glued and it worked really well for me. You can’t tell but I’m actually going around and around the votive to keep the weight even. 100 Handmade Gift Tutorials. Felt Bookmarks {Tutorial} – Back-to-School. It seems like I make everything I can out of felt and this is my latest little project…felt bookmarks! They’re cute, fun and super easy to make. Package them up with a few new notebooks, pencils and a book gift card for a great back-to-school gift. They make sweet teacher gifts and since I’m a homeschool mom I made some just for me. Here’s a quick little tutorial for these bookmark beauties… Start with a package of colorful 2 inch paper clips, wool felt, embroidery floss,a needle and a sharp pair of scissors for detailed cuts. Cut a two inch strip of felt and wrap it around the end of the paper clip. Measure against your clip so you don’t make it too wide and then add a couple stitches to secure it in place. It’s a fun afternoon project that will make someone feel extra special while reading. :) There’re so many paper clips in the box you could make enough for an entire classroom of kids…ha!
