[tab title="European Spectacles - Street Art Development Project"] Street Art Development Projekt Carnival Aalborg collaborated with carnivals from Hamburg – “Altonale Spaßparade” – and London – “Luton International Canival” on developing mobile carnival and street art in Europe. The project, called “European Spectacles – Street Art Development Project” (ESSADP) was funded with support from the EU Culture Program 2007-2013.

The aim of the project was to engage more people in the annual carnivals in Aalborg, Hamburg and Luton. In focus was high quality mobile street art – “public art”, costume art, theatre de rue, music, dance, costume design and stilt art. Also, the project aimed to strengthen both the artistic and organizational collaboration between the participating European cities through exchange of inspiration, ideas and general experience. Activities such as a workshops/exchanges between creative groups (on disguise design, masks, choreographers, dancers, percussionists), trainings on street art, seminars, works on parades and carnavals will be implemented.
