European Union - EEAS (European External Action Service) | Junior Experts in Delegation Programme

We inform you that the JED programme, which has been an efficient training tool and a successful example of partnership between Member States, the Commission and the EEAS shall definitively end in December 2012 given the fact that its functioning has to be put in conformity with new management norms and standards. The High Representative and the EEAS should present soon a new framework offering a single EU external action’ training scheme in the EU Delegations from 2013. The new scheme will propose to keep the main strengths and spirit of the JED scheme and will take into account current budgetary constraints to preserve and enhance partnerships with the Member States. The Junior Experts in Delegation programme, also known as the JED programme, aims to provide qualified University graduates from EU Member States with invaluable experience in the European Union's External Service Delegations situated in particular in developing countries.
