A Humble Creation: An Ode to Chai Tea Mix in a Mason Jar. Chic Masquerade – DIY Mask & Template | Sprinkles in Springs. Tea Heart Bags | Crafts Tutorials Blog - Ideas For Crafts. Make a slim and sexy entry way table. I'm loving what Monica did with a Lack wall shelf and Vika Fintorp legs - an absolutely gorgeous entry way table. She ways, "My husband and I needed an entry way table (a landing strip by Apartment Therapy terms) and didn't have much more than 10, maybe 11, inches of depth to work with which made things tough and hard to find a good white console table.
We're in the process of re-doing our entry way and going to wallpaper but came up with a really clever way to construct our own entry way table using a Lack shelf ($14.99) and two of the taller Vika Fintorp legs ($10 each). Probably not a lot of instructions needed on this one, we attached the legs first, then installed the shelf with legs using the Lack mounting bar. One clever trick we found was to figure out the correct placement with the legs and slowly lean the table back, load a sharpie in each of the holes on the back of the Lack shelf and it marked the correct spot to hang the mounting bar. " Malm Dresser Up-Do. Malm Published on November 29th, 2010 | by Jules IKEAHacker Materials: Malm 6 Drawer Dresser, chair rail molding, drawer handles, claw feet, Description: I started with a black/brown Malm 6 drawer dresser. Knowing I wanted to lift it off the ground with these claw feet, I needed to re-enforce the structure so the particle board wouldn’t shatter.
Using 2″ x 2″ “furring strips” from home depot. I made a frame out of the furring strips that I screwed into the inside lining of the bottom of the dresser. Next, lift the dresser and put the feet under it. Next, screw a 1″ thick, 3″ wide strip of wood to the front of the dresser just below the bottom drawer- this way you’ll have a flat front to the dresser. Using chair rail molding, make frames for the drawers, I just used a miter box to make the 45 degree cuts. I am willing spring time to be here soon! There are so many ways you can repurpose glass jars. You may already have some jars you plan to recycle. Or maybe you have some in your pantry or refrigerator that could soon be re-used once it’s empty. I decided to decorate them with scrap book paper, ribbon, string and buttons.
Here’s how I made my decorative jars: I first picked out my scrap book paper. I then went searching for some embellishments to make the overall design more fun and interesting. I cut each paper into the height I wanted and also made the width sized to fit around the jars. I first applied Mod Podge on the back of the paper and also on the area of the glass jar the paper was going to be placed. (Side Note: If you want to learn more about Mod Podge, I highly recommend watching the Mod Podge Rocks tutorial videos. Lastly, I added the finishing touches with my “embellishments” – string, ribbon and buttons.
Bath Fizzies. Bucket List: 225 Things to Do Before You Die | Lifed. Paint A Rug. I recently painted our Master Bathroom a really fun Gray color {Benjamin Moore’s Rockport Gray} and was looking for a rug that I could put in there to add some color and match some towels I had purchased. I did a lot of shopping around online and found a lot of great rugs that I would have loved to have…but the price tags were a bit too much for me to justify. So I decided to make my own and paint a rug. I have seen several of these DIY tutorials floating around, but the very first one to inspire me was this painted rug that Jen and Shelley made. They have great step by step instructions so I won’t take the time to give you a step by step process, but will share with you a couple of things I did to make mine.
I am REALLY happy with how it turned out. When I first finished the rug, my bathroom cabinets were an old outdated oak color that we never loved. The rug I used was simply a Memory Foam Runner that I found at COSTCO for $22 and some change. What do you think?
