'Onderhuids' by Anique Noordman The Dutch designer and graduate from Design Academy Eindhoven Anique Noordman realised this series of delicate, “subcutaneously” patterned textiles as her final project. Due to geometric pieces of rubber and vinyl which are mounted behind the fabric the curtain recieves in a certain stiffness and the drapery appears according to the grid of the inlays. ‘Onderhuids’ will be showcased at this year’s Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven from 23 – 31 october 2010 at the Graduation Gallery of the Design Academy.

La gamme Onderhuids , conçue par Anique Noordman, propose un ensemble de textiles géométriques et texturés, dont les motifs et la structure proviennent de pièces en caoutchouc et en vinyle qui sont fixés juste derrière le tissu. Onderhuids signifie littéralement “hypodermique” en français, c’est-à-dire “qui se fait sous la peau”. Anique Noordman est hollandaise. Elle a suivi une formation en design textile à la Design Academy d’Eindhoven. Onderhuids est une partie de son projet de diplôme.

Now, before I begin explaining what’s going on here, I’ve got to say that this ISN’T the first time I’ve seen someone apply the clock idea to a vinyl record. But- but! This is the first time I’ve seen someone do it so masterfully.
