'Onderhuids' by Anique Noordman The Dutch designer and graduate from Design Academy Eindhoven Anique Noordman realised this series of delicate, “subcutaneously” patterned textiles as her final project. Due to geometric pieces of rubber and vinyl which are mounted behind the fabric the curtain recieves in a certain stiffness and the drapery appears according to the grid of the inlays. ‘Onderhuids’ will be showcased at this year’s Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven from 23 – 31 october 2010 at the Graduation Gallery of the Design Academy. http://www.dailytonic.com/onderhuids-by-anique-noordman-nl-at-eindhoven-design-week/

Areaware Wooden Bottle Opener | Uncrate

If you're looking to simply get the job done (and your job is opening beer), the Areaware Wooden Bottle Opener ($20) is all you need. A single bent nail to pry off the bottle cap, while a magnet inclosed in the walnut handel catches it. Another magnet attaches the opener to the refrigerator (or truck door) so you never misplace it. http://uncrate.com/stuff/areaware-wooden-bottle-opener/

Made from solid maple, each has a unique and beautiful grain, no two are exactly alike. They are each signed and numbered.

Now, before I begin explaining what’s going on here, I’ve got to say that this ISN’T the first time I’ve seen someone apply the clock idea to a vinyl record. But- but! This is the first time I’ve seen someone do it so masterfully. http://www.yankodesign.com/2010/07/14/vinyl-record-clocks-of-many-shapes/
