Integrated Learning Experiences Central America offers volunteering programs, faculty led trips and Internships in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Peru. Our mission is to strengthen human resources in Central America.
Volunteer in sea turtle conservation in Guatemala- In Guatemala, poaching sea turtle eggs is not illegal, but poachers are required by law to give a certain amount of their eggs to projects that nurse those eggs into baby turtles.
In the natural world, eggs that hatch naturally on the beach are easy prey for birds and other predators. Also due to different circumstances, not all turtles hatch in time to get to the ocean or get lost and exhausted along the way. By nursing, monitoring, and controlling the eggs in the hatchery; the sea turtle conservation project can regulate that nearly 100% of the eggs hatch at the same time.
Once hatched volunteers can place them near the ocean safe from predators on the beach. Once in the ocean, sea turtles start their lives and the females that make it to reproductive adulthood return to the same beach to make a nest and lay eggs. The projects handle species such as Olive Ridley, Leatherback, and Eastern Pacific Green turtles, depending on the season. Family volunteering program abroad- Create rewarding experiences.

Veterinary volunteer program abroad-Work in clinics. Medical Volunteering Campaigns. Medical Volunteering Campaigns are a great way to help communities in Latin America within a short amount of time.
The program is meant for groups of 6-15 medical professionals or medical students accompanied by a professional to work in medical campaigns in partnership with local clinics and doctors. The medical campaigns can have different focuses depending on the specialty of the group and resources. Past campaigns have included aspects like : Malnutrition treatment and prevention, reproductive health, physical therapy, pediatrics, dental hygiene campaigns, and general medicine. We work closely with clinics and your group, to make the best use of your time in the trip. We assign guides to help facilitate all the work so the group can focus on the medical aspects.
Medical campaigns range anywhere from 4-14 days and can include some sightseeing as well. Our medical volunteering campaigns are available in Guatemala,Costa Rica ,Peru and Bolivia. Peru is bordered by Ecuador and Colombia to the north, Brazil, and Bolivia to the east, and Chile to the south. Peru is a country that has a diversity and wealth not common in the world. The main attractions are their archaeological patrimony of pre-Columbian cultures and the hub of the Inca’s empire, their gastronomy, their colonial architecture (it has imposing colonial constructions) and their natural resources (a paradise for ecological tourism). Although Peru has rich natural resources and many great places to visit, the poverty scale reaches 25.8% of the population.
The rich, consisting mostly of a Hispanic (or “Criollo”) elite, live in the cities. Peru is a representative democratic republic divided into 25 regions. Volunteer with Children - INLEXCA. Our office was set up by former Peace Corps staff in Guatemala in 2005, who wanted to provide flexible programs that would allow prospective volunteers to choose how long they wanted to volunteer for and in what area they wanted to focus on.
