At our April meeting we welcomed Cathy Miller and her husband John to our Guild. Cathy is renowned in the quilt world (and beyond!) As the Singing Quilter. We were pleased to share this evening with visiting quilters from the Queens Quilters and the Mayflower Quilters Guild as well as friends of Cathy and John's who came to hear their performance. And what a wonderful performance it was! We were all delighted to see her quilts and hear the stories of their connections with Cathy's songs. Cathy and her colour wheel quilt. Cathy shared with us her tiny hexagon quilts and one especially was quite remarkable. These are 1/4" silk hexagons! Cathy also showed us her portion of the World's Biggest Hexagon Quilt, which has a unique setting. Thanks Cathy and John for visiting us, do come back again soon!

It is a wonderful craft which can be enjoyed by all ages with the bonus that the results, beautiful pieces of artwork, can be exchanges as gifts or gorgeous pieces to feature in your own home. I have always enjoyed patchwork quilting but like many things in life finding the time to sit down and enjoy a craft is often difficult. Over the Christmas period I have found the time to the settle down and work on a patchwork, which I finished and gave to my Mother who has since taken it home with her to America.
